New Blogger

As a many, many time blog reader, this year I have decided to try my hand at being a first time blog creator.

I have always loved to craft.  I have tried nearly every craft at one time or another.  Painting, sewing, quilting, beading, card making, mosaics... I've tried my hand at them all.  I have sold a few things but mostly just give them for gifts.  I enjoy the feeling of creating and making things that bring happiness to other people.

This New Years I walked into my awesome craft room and started thinking about how lucky I am to have such an awesome space to craft in.  I am also lucky to have a wonderful significant other who is handy with a table saw, screwdriver, and some scraps of wood and who helped create such a wonderful crafting space.  As I soaked in how great it feels to have crafting as my past time, I decided I wanted to find a way to share the things that make me happy with others.  Why not try my hand a creating a blog?  Other people do it so why can't I?

So here goes... and for my first post I share with you my cherished craft room...

My personal handyman made the work table.  Behind the curtains is where I hide lots of goodies (notice my Stampin Up collection is out on display though).  My room has really high ceilings and we made the most of it by putting in shells all the way to the top.  I try to stay organized but as any frequent crafter knows, a clean craft room is one that isn't getting used.

The green cabinet on the end is something my dad made for me when I lived in a rather small apartment.  We got the idea for it from a craft cabinet I saw at Hobby Lobby.  I went in with a tape measure and sheet of graph paper.  I sent him the dimensions and voila, he made it for me.  I love it and it now fits perfectly on my new work table.

My sewing corner!  You may have noticed a few quilts sitting around on the chairs.

Hope you enjoy one of the many places that makes me smile.  The crafty items this room helps me produce are yet to come...
